Connect to Wireless Network Using the wireless network functionality
To connect to a wireless network using the wireless network functionality in Windows Vista, please follow these steps:

- Right Click Network icon next to time in
task bar
or Click Start, and then click Network. (Or you can click Start, then click Connect). - Click on Network and Sharing Center.
- Click on the Connect to a network. If already
connected you must select Disconnect first

- Click the wireless network you wish to connect, and then click Connect. During this process, you may be prompted for a Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) key in order to connect to the wireless network. If you do not have this key you will need to get it from whoever is in charge of the wireless connection. If you have a wireless router try contacting the tech support for the manufacture of the wireless router.
Method 2: Using the command line interface
The netsh commands in Windows Vista provides methods for you to configure wireless security settings and connect to a wireless network. To use the netsh command, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, then click Command Prompt. At the command prompt, type the following line and press ENTER:
netsh wlan connect name=TechNet
